Oh hi

Wow, I totally forgot how much I love Gwen Stefani.
I saw this picture on Alloy.com(photo cred),
rocking this amazing dress at the Met Gala 2010.
My senior year of highschool, I loved her! One of my classmates
got me hooked on her music AND her style.
Her dress is seriously gorgeous. <3

Awesome Finds: My Mommas Closet

Black faux leather across the body skinny strap bag.

Black leather clutch with gold chain.

Brown Leather Clutch

I used to make fun of my mom for wearing her pants so high up her waist, now I like them for shorts! So I cut some of her old pants into high-waisted shorts.

Check out these blue pastel shorts! Hahaha I think these are pretty sweet.
Might I add... the belt is from my boyfriends closet!
I'm Taking every ones old clothes/accessories.

I was looking for old shirts I could cut off the shoulder, instead I found this cute gray silk onesie! I was like "whoa mom this is cute, can I have it?!" She responded with..."As long as you don't wear it around Evan..."
Hahaha I was like wait... I don't think I'm going to wear it the same way you did back in the day... Not so much as lingerie, but perfect with a high-waisted skirt!

I also found this old Neiman Marcus shirt. I don't know what was up with this thing, but it went down to my ankles! Like a 10x Tall-T.
I decided to cut it and make it into a dress, just added a belt to cinch the waist!

Seriously, go through your mom's, aunt's, grandma's or any older persons closet!
It's fun and you can find some pretty cool things :)

Current Craving: Shoes

I totally miss working at shoe stores! I worked at a shoe boutique called Souliers, and the owners had an awesome little concept: Every hour we worked was kept track of, and when we had enough hours for the shoes we wanted, they were ours! I loved it. At one point, I applied for another job at a shoe store because I wasn't getting enough hours. Got that one too! I was working at two shoe stores at once, receiving free shoes at one, and 60% off the other. Heaven. Ever since I stopped, I sort of stopped buying shoes. They are too pricey! Well the ones I want at least... I just got a huge craving for shoes, I want them all! :]

I am going shopping with my mom, her two best friends and one of their daughters tomorrow and I am so excited! Then on Monday, I am going shopping with my mom, aunt, and cousin. Ever since I moved out, I sort of set shopping aside because I don't have any money, and that is a BIG deal for me. I just want to SPLURGE this spring break! Yeah right... haha but seriously a few new things will satisfy me. Not to mention spending time with those I don't get to see often.

My mom and I are also going to Tahoe for 3 days. I am super excited to spend some time with my momma. She wants me to experience gambling now that I am 21. Woo! Since it is snowing in Tahoe, my mom bought me some new snow clothes! I don't like snow boots... so I got rain boots and wool socks. I can't wait to rock them!

Idea Journal #14 Visual Merchandising

Where: Internet, http://www.meandmybicycle.com/profiles/blogs/topshop-bicycle-window-display
When: Posted January 2009, I found it February 2010
Idea: I love the idea of incorporating the bicycles with fashion. I feel like it is promoting bike riding along with fashion. The bikes actually make the outfits look cooler.

Idea Journal #13 Visual Merchandising

Where: Internet, http://www.flickr.com/photos/georgie_grrl/2863785903/
When: Found March 2010
Idea: I love the fantasy looking theme for this display. I would use this same concept for my display. Mix nature and animals with glam and expensive pieces. It is very pretty!

Idea Journal #12 Visual Merchandising

Where: Internet, http://www.lynnertic.com/category/superheroes/
When: March 2010 (not sure when it was posted)
Idea: I love this! I think the barbie idea is extremely cute. The box is very creative and it shows the clothes off nicely. I wish this was my idea! Hahaha

Woo Abstract Art!

I'm taking a Visual Merchandising and Display course this semester and we learned how to cut foam-board. It seems easy... but it actually is not that easy. Amanda even cut her finger open, it was pretty nasty. Anyways, I didn't want to waste the board we used so I bought some paint, then painted the pieces I cut, then glued them together, and the pictures above are the result! I love making things now! It's fun and you can create original and unique things :]
